A 13-hectare prescribed burn will go ahead sometime this month in the Clinton area, north of the village.
The BC Wildfire Service will help the Village of Clinton’s fire department with this burn, and the goal is to reduce the risk of wildfires.
It will go ahead only if conditions are suitable to allow smoke to dissipate quickly, with firefighters closely monitoring things at all times.
Smoke and flames from this prescribed burn may be visible north of Clinton and west of Highway 97.
The BC Wildfire Service says this burn will help maintain a fuel management project that was originally completed in 2009.
