Two men have been charges after a significant bust of a stolen vehicles from a property in Lillooet.
RCMP Cpl. Chris Manteau says the Tk’emlups RCMP were notified last week that a dump truck had been stolen.
“It was last seen parked near Savona on March 29th. The vehicle was actually later seen by the owner on April 3rd on a rural Lillooet property. That person then reported it to the Lillooet RCMP who were able to obtain a search warrant for the property, on Airport Road in Lillooet.”
Manteau says the search warrant, carried out with ICBC special investigators, led to about $200,000 worth of vehicles being recovered,. He also says two men were arrested at the scene.
“I think it was just good police work that was done and definitely good eagle eyes by the owner of that vehicle, who identified it, did the right thing and contacted the police, let us go through the proper channels. We’re going to get some good channels and hopefully return some property to some people out of this.”
Two men from Lillooet – Donald Wilson, 63, and Roger Phillips, 44 – each face charges of possession of stolen property. Both are due back in Kamloops court on May 6.
