A Kamloops non-profit that helps the homeless and people facing poverty is hoping to expand services for women.
Managing director of The Mustard Seed Diane Down says the organization will be doing work this spring and summer to delve deeper.
“We are about to launch several feasibility studies on what services we can offer, especially looking at services for women. Traditionally, New Life really focused on men, our residential recovery is for men. We know that there are some really serious gaps for women in recovery and addiction and serving them.”
Down says she hopes the studies will lead to new plans for housing, and she says The Mustard Seed will have a clearer idea by the fall.
