Flight crews are exposed to all kinds of things while they’re at work, but it’s not only cold viruses they need to worry about.
It’s not a secret that pesticides are used on airplanes, but what are the long term effects on flight attendants?
The Canadian Union of Public Employees national health and safety officer, Troy Wilson says almost two dozen countries have been mandating the spraying of cabins as long as they’ve been flying there.
He’s worried flight attendants, who fly to these destinations regularly, may be suffering long term effects
“There’s new studies that are coming out that are starting to question whether or not that this constant exposure to pesticides may be causing some neurological effects that have me quite concerned.”
Although there are claim the pesticide that are used are not harmful, Wilson says he doesn’t believe there is any pesticide that can be considered truly non toxic.
