Kamloops airport staff want to remind people to give themselves extra time in getting to the airport, because of the construction on Victoria Street West.
Managing Director Ed Ratuski says to also consider alternate routes to the airport, if you can.
“People get used to showing up within the 45 minutes of their flight times,” he said.
“If they are cutting close, we just ask that they plan a little bit further ahead so that they can make those cut off times that the airlines have.”
Both Air Canada and West Jet require passengers to check in and drop off their bags 45 minutes before departure.
“People have to be cognizant of the fact that if they are not there on time, there is a risk that their seat could be given to a stand by passenger,” Ratuski added.
Other routes, he said, people could consider in getting to the airport are Summit Drive or the Halston Connector.
