The CAO in Ashcroft says public consultation on a proposed large-scale housing development will likely happen by this summer.
The village owns more than 20 acres on the south end of town, and Michelle Allen says it plans to develop part of it into a new subdivision.
“It will change that whole neighborhood, and we want to make sure the public is aware of what we’re doing and how things are going to move forward. So the public consultation process I hope gets started.”
Allen says the land is already zoned for residential housing.
She says the next step will be to identify what part to develop, have community meetings and hopefully have renderings of a proposed project.
