
Kamloops RCMP say a 54-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly assaulted three BC Ambulance Paramedics at Royal Inland Hospital on Wednesday night.
Police say the responded at 7:23 p.m. to reports that the man began to kick and punch paramedics at the hospital.
Staff Sgt. Ed Preto says the man was was taken to the hospital from a North Shore location for treatment.
“At the hospital, the man began to kick and punch paramedics, before he was restrained by hospital security staff,” said Preto, in a release.
There’s no word why the man assaulted the paramedics, but Preto noted police believe he was intoxicated.
The man has since been released from hospital.
