Two down, two to go.
The west coast has just moved a step closer to eliminating the annual time change.
Premier John Horgan has said while B.C. has the power to make the move on its own it is crucial to have the U.S. states down the western seaboard onside.
“Washington State has recently passed legislation to stay with Daylight Savings Time permanently. I am excited to hear that.I have yet to hear back from Oregon on how they are going to proceed. We need congressional approval. If you have a congressman, person, man or woman that you like to write letters too I encourage you to write and see if we can get permanent Daylight Savings Time on the west coast.”
Horgan has already written to the governors of Washington State, Oregon, and California urging them to eliminate the time change.
California voters approved scrapping time change last year but the measure has not yet been passed by the state legislature.
The campaign to ditch adjusting the clock originated in Kamloops from Tara Holmes and Bob Dieno.
