Two 32-year-old men are in custody after they tried to flee from police early this morning in Kamloops.
Police say an officer saw the vehicle driving erratically in the area of Highland Drive, around 4:40 a.m., which sped away when the officer tried to pull it over.
“Immediately, the officer pulled over and stopped but the suspect vehicle continued speeding and on the Frontage Road near Oriole Drive, the driver hit a cement barrier,” said Cpl. Jodi Shelkie.
Two men were arrested without incident, Shelkie says one was in the vehicle while the other was found nearby after he tried to run away.
One man is from Enderby and he had a warrant for his arrest for assault. The other suspect is from Falkland and was also known to police
Shelkie says both men did not have any visible injuries, but they were taken to Royal Inland Hospital to be checked out.
The BC Prosecution Service will be determining charges.
