Spring is here and it’s time to clear out the clutter.

While taking all of your junk to the dump can add up, fortunately Free Disposal Days are back.

From old mattresses to renovation trash, they’ll take most every kind of residential waste.

TNRD Waste Reduction Coordinator Andrew Robalin says that’s especially true for stuff that can be reused. “Everyone’s doing spring cleaning and we want to make sure that all that stuff’s ending up in the right place.”

Robalin adds “I absolutely encourage, if things are recyclable, if you’ve got scrap metal, all of those things, please divert them from the landfill.”

Robalin reminds us this is for residential waste only and this week is not for non hazardous materials.

There will be a weekend for that kind coming up in May.
