The BC Liquor Distribution Branch is holding a job fair in Kamloops next week to find employees for the Lansdowne Village BC Cannabis store.

The LDB is looking for a store manager, two assistant managers, six full-time cannabis consultants, and eight part-time/auxiliary cannabis consultants.

The job fair will be held next Wednesday, May 1, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel in Aberdeen.

In a release, the LDB says recruiters will collect resumes at the event, but all prospective candidates have to submit their application online to be considered.

Candidates who are chosen will get extensive training focused on safe and responsible adult use, comprehensive product knowledge, and customer service skills.

All employees will also have to undergo an Enhanced Security Screening check, in accordance with the Cannabis Control and Licensing Act.

In all, there will be three government cannabis stores in Kamloops, including the one that is open at the Columbia Place Shopping Centre.

The two government stores are expected to open later this year.
