It’s the time of year that people start thinking about doing renovations to their homes.
While many projects are easy enough to tackle ourselves, sometimes you may need to to hire somebody.
Karla Davis is the Manager of Community and Public Relations with the Better Business Bureau.
She says the most important thing to do is get everything in writing.
“If a contractor tells you no, that’s an automatic red flag,” she said.
“That is something you should walk away from because professional contractors will want to also have everything in writing because it no only protects the client, it protects them.”
Davis also says to make sure they have the proper liability insurance as well as workers compensation for themselves or any employees.
