Wildfire season is back and while we’ve had a few small ones, the really hot weather is still a few weeks away.
Amanda Reynolds, Fire Information Officer from BC Wildfire Services says so far it’s been quite, but don’t expect that to last. “We have had some cooler temperatures and some rain and we are anticipating those temperatures to continue but you know fire season unfortunately, is long.”
Firesmart BC was started in 2017 to help British Columbian’s better prepare for wildfires.
Reynolds says their website is a huge resource with all the tools and information you need, “There’s a home owner’s manual, there’s lots of tip and trick that you can do that are really simple and free of cost to help fire smart your home.”
