Annual water restrictions within the City of Kamloops will kick in today.
Until August 31, you won’t be able to water your lawns between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on any day of the week.
Homeowners with even numbered addresses will be allowed to water their lawns on even numbered days. Those with odd numbered addresses are allowed to water on odd numbered days.
If you want to water you lawn between midnight and 6 a.m., you’ll have to use either an automatic irrigation system or sprinklers controlled by a timer.
Residents are allowed to hand water plants using a hose with a working spring-loaded shutoff nozzle or a hand-held container at any time.
There is a $100 fine if you are in violation of the rules. Every offence after that will cost you $200.
