The Village of Cache Creek has long-haul bus service again for the first time since Greyhound packed up last year.
Adventure Charters has began operating routes from Williams Lake to Kamloops and from Prince George to Surrey, and both stop in Cache Creek.
Mayor Santo Talarico says there has been a need for that service.
“It’s a more positive sign that we can restore some of the service that we had in the past, and the combination of those two means of transportation for getting people around in our area, that’s a huge plus for us.,” Talarico says.
“Certainly in the people who get off the bus or getting on the bus in Cache Creek, wherever that location may be, there is some potential to have some spinoffs in that area for sure.”
Before today, communities in the Fraser Canyon had been without a long-haul bus service since May of last year, and Cache Creek and Savona had been without since October.
