The BC Wildfire Service confirms people involved in a fatal plane crash near Smithers this weekend were contracted to do aerial mapping.
A four-seater Cessna 182 plane went down just before 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, killing three of four people on board.
BCWS spokesperson Kevin Skrepnek says the Transportation Safety Board is now investigating the collision. “Our thoughts and sympathies go to family and friends of those who lost their lives, and everyone else involved and affected,” he says in a statement.
A cause for the crash has not yet been determined.
