Mounties in Kamloops are looking for a male suspect and a vehicle after a teenage girl was asked to get into a vehicle with a stranger.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says a 13-year-old girl was approached by a man in a lifted pick-up truck on April 23 at about 8:30 p.m., near Gleneagles Drive and Skagit Place. She says the girl declined an offer for a ride from the man, who claimed to be a friend of her mother.
“Officers canvassed homes in the area but no surveillance video was found that showed the suspect vehicle,” Shelkie says. “Kamloops RCMP are asking any citizens who live on Gleneagles Drive between Summit Drive and Springhill Drive and have surveillance cameras that show passing vehicles, to contact them.”
Police say the vehicle was a lifted, white Ford four-door pick-up truck, with chrome-shined wheels and shiny door handles, with bright yellow headlights. Police say the girl involved could not see the driver because of the height of the truck, and say the only description of the driver given was that he had a “gruff smokers voice.”
