
The latest employment numbers are out and it was a record month for job growth in Canada with over 106 thousand jobs being created in April.
BC continues to lead the way the lowest unemployment rate of any province at 4.6 percent, down slightly from 4.7 per cent in March.
Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology Bruce Ralston says the construction industry saw 8-thousand jobs added, with a lot that building happening right here. “I think in Kamloops they were saying a couple of months ago there were a thousand apartment units under construction in urban Kamloops and I think those numbers reflect the trend of more jobs in construction.”
Nationally, the unemployment rate dropped to 5.7 percent from 5.8 per cent in March.
