The Kamloops Law Courts
A Kamloops man who killed his friend and coworker more than two years ago in the Dallas RV Park was sentenced to life in prison, with no eligibility for parole for 12 years.
Fifty-nine year old Stephen Fraser was convicted of second degree murder in December 2018, in the stabbing death of Cody Foster in February 2017.
A second-degree murder conviction has a mandatory life sentence.
The Crown was asking for Fraser to not be eligible for parole for 14 to 15 years, based on the “excessive violence” of the killing.
The defense, while acknowledging it was a brutal killing, asked for the minimum of 10 years before parole eligibility.
Cody Foster had multiple injuries after the attack, including several stab wounds to the head, face and neck area.
The ruling was handed down today by Justice Len Marchand.
