If you’ve been thinking of ditching the gas guzzler for an electric vehicle but don’t think the savings are there, you may want to think again
With gas prices going through the roof, you could be saving up to eighty percent by driving an electric vehicle as BC Hydro Spokesperson Jen Walker-Larson explains.”If you’re charging your vehicle at home, you’re paying about two dollars for a hundred kilometers.”
“If you need to use a fast charger, you’re paying for the convenience of the fast charger so that’s about 6 dollars a hundred kilometers. But when you think most people have SUV’s that are paying fifteen a hundred kilometers just for fuel, that’s a significant difference.”
Walker-Larson adds BC Hydro is adding more charging stations in the province with 58 fast charge stations in the province.
There’s also a lot of rebates if you’re thinking of making the change, the BC Hydro website has the complete break down.
