A well-known property management company in Kamloops will be building two new condo buildings on TRU’s campus at “The Reach” development.

The Kelson Group has bought adjacent properties, 865 and 875 University Drive where it will build two five-storey buildings – one with units to buy and one specifically for rentals.

Kelson’s vice president Jason Fawcett says the newly-purchased lots are adjacent to a five-storey rental building with 77 units, at 895 University Drive, that the company will be finished this fall.

“TRU is just an unbelievable area of growth for the community, and we know that it draws so many people to Kamloops. Lots of residents do want to live right on campus; we already own apartments in the nieghbourhood and we’ve been housing students at the university for well over 45 years.”

Fawcett says construction should start within two months, and says the buildings should be ready for occupancy in January of 2021.
