A couple of small new wildfires have sprung up in the Kamloops Fire Centre.
The BC Wildfire Service says one fire is in the 6 Mile Creek area, northwest of Vernon.
It was discovered today and is mapped at 0.01 hectares.
A second fire is southeast of Merritt in the area of Raspberry Road. It is also mapped at 0.01 hectares for now, and was discovered yesterday.
Both fires are believed to be human caused, and we’ve reached out to the BC Wildfire Service for more information.
