A search in the Thompson River for a man who reported jumped off the Overlanders bridge last night turned up nothing.
Kamloops RCMP say they got a call at 9:55 p.m. last night, and both police and firefighters were involved in the extensive search.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says they were told the man was reportedly acting distraught and flailing his arms while appearing to be impaired and agitated.
“We’ve only had one person report that they saw this person go over into the river, and we just would like to see if anybody else saw that,” Shelkie said. “Perhaps they saw him beforehand and they drove by. If you can contact the RCMP, we would really appreciate it.”
Shelkie says the man is about 6’0″ tall, with a little bit of facial hair. He was wearing dark coloured pants and a bright blue hoody.
Crews are expected to be out looking for this man again today.
