A 39-year-old Kamloops man was arrested without incident after a pair of robberies late last night.
Police say an employee at the Double Tree Hotel on St. Paul Street told them they were robbed around 11:20 p.m. by a man who threatened to use a gun.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says no weapon was used, and the man fled on foot.
“While on route to the hotel, an officer was flagged down by another victim who stated he had just been robbed,” she said. “The description of the suspect matched the description of the hotel robber. So we set up a perimeter and a male was located nearby matching the description of the suspect in both robberies.”
Shelkie says there were no injuries to either victim, and the BC Prosecution Service will determine charges.
At this time police say there is no evidence linking these robberies to a string of other robberies in downtown Kamloops earlier this year.
