If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, how about heading downtown for a little three on three?
This weekend marks the first year of another tournament for the Tournament Capital.
Victoria Street will be closed down between Third and Fourth for three-on-three basketball.
Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association executive director Karl DeSantis is optimistic the inaugural two day tournament will grow. “You know it’s the first that we’re doing this and we’re certainly hoping to get it up to the Seattle level where there’s hundreds of teams, but not the first year.”
“So, this year we’ve got teams coming from as far away as Vancouver and Calgary competing in the different levels and for the youth, absolutely, we’ve got another court set up.”
Basketball runs from 10 a.m. until about 5 p.m.; it’s free, with a block party happening in the alley until 11 p.m. You’ll need to buy tickets for that.
