A multi-million dollar renovation at the newly-branded Delta Hotel in downtown Kamloops is now completely finished.
The former Hotel 540 property had been undergoing a rebranding since November and had a soft opening six weeks ago.
“We welcomed our first guests through the doors, Rocky Mountaineer, back in late April, and then we had some other commitments that we lived up to. So we were very pleased to host a TRU conference last week, we had a couple of weddings already during that time, and a couple of other small groups who had booked and we committed to. And now we’ve got a full hotel ready to welcome guests and we’re very excited to do that during the summer,” Pilbeam says.
“Certainly it’s been a long process for us. We initially signed a franchise agreement with Marriott back in December of 2017. So 18 months later, a lot of work gone into that process, planning and execution. Finally official.”
The renovation was worth more than $9 million dollars. Pilbeam says the hotel has added nearly 20 per cent more staff compared to before renovations with additions made to the property.
