The boil water advisory in Logan Lake will not be lifted today as originally planned.
CAO Randy Lambright says they still suspect maintenance work as the cause for the advisory that was put in place last Saturday.
“We are continuing our analytical testing,” he said.
“At this point in time, we are still getting a hit for bacteria, so we are continuing to add chlorine to the system and we hope to be able to provide more of an update next Thursday.”
Lambright says it is hard to estimate at this time, what the boil water advisory is costing the District of Logan Lake.
“A lot of the testing that we’ve been doing is part and parcel of our day to day activities,” added Lambright. “The fact that we have to do extra testing, that’s just part of our responsibility to provide clean, healthy safe water to our residents.”
About 2,000 residents are affected by the boil water advisory, and they’ve been asked to let water come to a rolling boil for at least three minutes before consuming it.
