Social media posts have identified 35-year-old Ryan Ellison from Kamloops as one of the victims in Saturday night’s fatal boat crash on Osoyoos Lake.

Through social media, the other victim in the crash has been identified as 36-year-old Nick Trask of Maple Ridge.

The fatal crash happened just after 7 p.m. on Saturday on Osoyoos Lake, which involved a motor boat and metal fishing boat.

Three people were taken to hospital afterwards, meanwhile two others were deemed missing by police, before their bodies were recovered from the lake about 24 hours after the accident.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the fatal collision.
