Heading into Father’s Day weekend, a new study shows that many men are working themselves to an early grave.
The study shows 80 per cent of men report medium-to-high levels of work-related stress, which can lead to heart disease, obesity and depression.
Wayne Hartrick, president of the Canadian Men’s Health Foundation, says there are little things we can do to make a difference.
“One of the pieces of good news here is that you don’t have to change your life overnight. We’re not telling people they have to quit their jobs. Small steps have a long term impact on health.”
Hartrick says five things we can start with are eating better, being more active, get at least seven hours of sleep, drinking in moderation and quitting or at least cutting back on smoking.
