An elementary school in Williams Lake was locked down this morning because of a “very argumentative and aggressive” woman trying to see her children.
RCMP say they responded to incident at Nesika Elementary early this morning.
“School staff said that a female came to the school looking to see her children. Due to family custody issues staff did not allow any contact,” Const. Joel Kooger says, adding the woman became very angry when she was denied from seeing her children.
Front line officers arrived quickly and they were advised by staff that the female had left the building in a vehicle. Shortly after, officers located the female and instructed her not to return to the school and advised her of alternate ways to have court paperwork served.
Mounties say there is no further risk to the public, and they say Nesika Elementary is back open as usual.
