A two month curtailment will go ahead at Canfor’s Intercontinental and Northwood NBSK pulp mills in Prince George.
“This is due to a significant deterioration in market conditions, in combination with fibre supply constraints and higher fibre costs resulting from recent sawmill curtailments across the BC industry,” Canfor said in a statement.
There is no word on how many employees will be affected by this recent curtailment, which Canfor says will reduce output by approximately 75,000 tonnes of NBSK pulp
Canfor intends to resume full production at both operations in September.
