A summer flight between Kamloops and Toronto would be good to expand, according to the Kamloops-North MLA.
Peter Milobar says the hope is to build the Air Canada Rouge flight to a year-round service.
He says it would make a huge difference for Sun Peaks, Mike Weigele heliskiing and for winter economic activity in general, in terms of tourism.
“If we could get Air Canada on board – so to speak – to go to year round service, the summertime service is a good first step but obviously the end goal is to try to get that to be a more permanent connection. It’s not just to Toronto, you have to remember it opens a whole world, that whole eastern seaboard.”
The Air Canada Rouge flight begins today and will fly weekly until the end of August.
