Phase two of planning for TRU’s Envision Plan will get underway next week with a trio of community meetings.

Two meetings will be at the Desert Gardens on Seymour Street on July 10 and 17, while the third is set for July 11 at the Brock Activity Centre – with all meetings taking place between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Spokesperson Lucille Gnanasihamany says the goal is to develop TRU’s vision and priorities for the next ten years.

“Back in 2014, then President Alan Shaver launched the new strategic priorities and there was quite a consultation then,” she said. “Those priorities spanned 2014 to 2019, so we are coming up to sort of the back end of those priorities.”

She says TRU President Brett Fairbairn will be at the July 11 consultations.

“Please come out, please have your say. We are really really keenly interested to hear the thoughts and opinions of our community members and we would be thrilled to see you there and greet you in person.”

Gnanasihamany says Phase One of planning work was launched in March of this year, and the plan is expected to come into effect in March 2020.
