A first of its kind meeting between government ministries and Chambers of Commerce in the province has proved to be a success.
The Thompson Okanagan was the first of eight consultations with representatives from several ministries.
While on the NL Morning News Executive director of the Kamloops Chamber, Acacia Pangilinan says they were able to touch on 28 different topics. “We also spoke to renovation tax credits to make so that there are incentives for people to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by updating and upgrading their homes.”
“And then the other one that we focused on, which is a new one for us this year was the belt and road initiative which is basically asking for us to think about Canada’s seat at the table when accessing Asian markets.”
The Canada jobs grant and scrapping the time change were among the 28 different topic that were discussed.
Pangilinan describes the chance to talk face to face with the various ministries as “terrific” adding it means they can really be the voice of their members directly to government.
