Police in Kamloops have arrested a pair of suspects after attempted thefts at businesses downtown and in Sahali.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says a 56-year-old man was arrested after a break and enter into Cobs Bakery on Columbia Street West.
“When officers arrived, they found that the front door glass had been smashed by a rock, and the only item taken was a donation box from the front counter,” she said.
Mounties were called to the bakery at 4 a.m. today.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man from Cache Creek was arrested on Sunday after breaking into a business that sells ATVs in downtown Kamloops.
“When the officer attended, he saw a man sitting on an ATV outside the compound,” Shelkie added. “The officer told the man that he was under arrest, at which point he fled on foot. So the officer pursued, also on foot, and caught up with him a short distance away, and the suspect was then taken into custody.”
It is unclear if charges will be laid in connection to either incident.
