If you like barbequed ribs, this weekend is the one for you.

This is the eighth year that Ribfest has taken over Riverside Park.

Ribfest spokesperson Bryce Herman says that’s not the only thing happening at the park. “We’ve got the Dragon Boat Festival going on on Saturday that’s going to kick off at 8:30 in the morning and we know we’re going to have a large number in that contingent between paddlers and the support teams that come along, there will be about a thousand of those people down in the park.”

Herman says they couldn’t put the event on without volunteers, and he says they can still use some more.
