A couple in their seventies were killed in a crash on the Coquihalla Highway last night just north of Hope.
The crash happened at around 3 p.m. in the southbound lanes, south of Othello Road and about five kilometres north of Hope.
Details of how the crash happened are not known, but the BC Coroners Service has confirmed it is investigating the deaths of a male and female couple who were killed as a result.
The highway was fully closed heading southbound for about three hours as a result, and fully reopened just before 9 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Trans-Canada Highway was also shut down in Kamloops heading westbound last night, just east of Lafarge Road, because of a crash. The incident forced the westbound lanes to be closed from about 10 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. this morning.
The BC Coroners Service did not have any information about that crash scene, and NL has reached out to BC Emergency Health Services for more information.
