Two people were injured after a small plane crashed short of the runway at Salmon Arm’s airport this morning.
A 71-year-old Alberta man and his 73-year-old wife were on board the single-engine Cessna plane and both were hurt in the crash that happened before 9 a.m.
RCMP say the pilot reported that the engine stopped, and the plane crashed at the north end of the runway due to the lack of power.
Fire Chief Brad Shirley told the Canadian Press that a helicopter had to be brought in to take one patient to hospital, although the injuries didn’t appear to be life-threatening.
Shirley says there was no fire after the crash and the cause remains under investigation.
