A quick response from Kamloops Fire and Rescue stopped a car fire from turning into a wildfire last night
Calls came in around 8:30 p.m. about a vehicle on fire in the Rose Hill area.
Kamloops Fire Platoon Captain Darryl Cooper says there are plenty of questions about the fire.
“It seems like a nice place to park a vehicle,” he said. “It was probably 100 feet off the road, along a pipeline road so I can’t imagine how it got there. I can’t speculate what it was doing there.”
Cooper says initial reports said there may have been someone in the vehicle.
“People were reporting that they didn’t know if they thought somebody might be inside but turned out there was nobody inside. That was good.”
