An unidentified man is in custody after a pair of incidents where he reportedly fired paint balls at moving vehicles in Kamloops.
The first incident was near Costco, where police were told of a suspect firing at moving vehicles and threatening people with his weapon. He was believed to have headed all the way to Valleyview, but police were unable to locate him.
A second similar incident was reported to police where a man was threatening pedestrians near Sandman Centre and Riverside Park.
RCMP and CP police officers were able to track down the man in the 800-block of Lorne Street, where he was taken into custody at gun point, without incident.
“This was certainly a serious series of events that our members were able to successfully stopped,” said Staff Sgt. Mat Van Laer. “This individual was really acting dangerously, and we are thankful he didn’t cause any accidents or injuries to anyone prior to his arrest.”
Van Laer says the man doesn’t appear to be from Kamloops, and he is expected to be in court tomorrow, where charges may be laid.
If you have any information, police say to contact them or Crimestoppers.
