Now that students and teachers from Parkcrest Elementary school know where they’ll be going for the rest of the school year, some local groups are going to try and keep them busy this week.
The Boys and Girls Club of Kamloops is taking in some of the Parkcrest students displaced by last week’s devastating fire.
Executive Director Traci Anderson was on the NL Morning News and explained the decision was an easy one. “Basically we serve a lot of families already from Parkcrest so we thought why not just open our doors for the full day and invite those families in.”
“Plus we took an additional 14, so we’re going to serve 24 kids this week for full days.”
Anderson says it’s be like most of their day camps.
She’s hoping the weather holds and we don’t get a downpour saying they’ll be out in the community doing a lot of different things.
