Another full-service hotel is coming on Rogers Way in Aberdeen.
Kamloops city council has unanimously approved a development permit for Mundi Hotels to build a Four Points by Sheraton next to the Coast Hotel, which the company also owns.
Developer Ron Mundi says construction is hopeful to start this fall but if not – it likely will next April.
“I’m trying to be open around about end of February in 2021, but if we start this year then definitely be open before Christmas in 2020.”
The new five-storey hotel will have 99 rooms, a 75-seat restaurant and other amenities like a pool and a hot tub.
The hotel will also have underground parking, and while some-above ground parking will be removed the addition of the underground parking will mean significantly more stalls available on the property.
A Four Points by Sheraton under different ownership also is already open about a block away in Aberdeen from the soon-to-be-built hotel, also on Rogers Way.
