Police in the North Okanagan are appealing for dash cam footage that could help locate a missing 72-year-old Falkland man.
Bjorn Collnes was reported missing last Thursday, September 12, after his brown mini-van was found abandoned west of Westwold, after a scheduled trip to Kamloops. He was last seen on September 9.
“We are very concerned about Mr. Collnes’ well-being and are asking anyone who may have any information about his disappearance to contact police,” said Cst. Kelly Brett. “Investigators are also asking for any dash cam footage that may have been captured by passing motorists, between the hours of 1:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 9, and 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12 on Highway 97 between Falkland and the Monte Lake area.”
She says since Collnes’ disappearance, police, along with Search and Rescue volunteers have conducted extensive ground and air searches of the area where the vehicle was found. The RCMP Underwater Recovery Unit also search nearby Monte Lake.
At the time of his disappearance, Collnes was wearing a black Harley Davidson t-shirt, gray or black camouflage shorts and brown running shoes. He’s got blue eyes, brown hair, and stands about 5’7″.
If you have any information, police say to contact your local RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
