Fan favourite and five-year member of the Kamloops Blazers Jermaine Loewen has signed a pro deal with the American Hockey League’s Chicago Wolves.
Chicago is the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights.
The two-year deal was signed after Loewen attended Golden Knights rookie camp, with general manager Kelly McCrimmon willing to take a further look at his potential.
Loewen was originally drafted by the NHL’s Dallas Stars in the 7th round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, but never signed with the team by the deadline and became a free agent.
Jermaine started with the Blazers at 16 years of age. He appeared in 295 games with the club. His best season was 2017-18 when he scored a team-leading 36 goals while adding 28 assists.
