Kamloops Fire Rescue captain Ed Allan says a truck was coming off the Yellowhead Highway onto the Battle Street off-ramp, when the driver lost control, and flipped his load of lumber.
“RCMP, BC Ambulance, and Kamloops Fire and Rescue attended,” Allan said. “The driver is okay, and nobody else is injured and now we’re just waiting for them to come do the rest of the clean up.”
The semi-driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Allan adds traffic is getting through slowly, but the clean up will take some time.
“It’s going to be multiple hours, five to six hours probably because they’ll have to unload all of the plywood off the truck, then right the truck up. So it’s going be a long time.”

.@KamloopsRCMP say the driver of the semi was the only occupant of the vehicle, and suffered minor injuries.
Police say it will take some time to clear the area, and drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible for the next hour or so. #Kamloops @RadioNLNews pic.twitter.com/glm57wHe5c
