The incumbent MP for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo doesn’t think the Liberals have done anything for the province’s forestry industry and have no plans to do so in the future.
Speaking on the NL Morning News, Cathy McLeod slammed the Grits for ignoring BC’s forestry sector. “We have thousands and thousands of jobs that have been at risk and their platform, they don’t mention it.”
“They went to the wall for SNC Lavalin and for jobs and here we have what’s happening in the interior of British Columbia and they don’t seem to recognize it as an issue.”
McLeod was appalled the Liberal platform does not mention the forestry crisis, the Conservative candidate saying “That is absolutely shameful.”
As far as to what her party would do, McLeod said “We’ve made a commitment in terms of forestry and really we’re still a community that’s dependant on our natural resources and we need to make sure we have a strong, robust economy.”
