Kamloops RCMP are investigating after a stolen vehicle was involved in an accident at 12:35 a.m. in the 400 block of Battle Street downtown, just a few blocks away from Sunday’s fatal collision.

A Honda Accord in the area lost control and hit a parked vehicle and a retaining wall, before coming to rest against a house. Police say the two people who were in the vehicle were seen running away from the scene.

“None of the residents inside the house were injured,” said Sgt. Sascha Fesenko. “The house itself appeared to have sustained only minor damage.”

He says a short while after the incident, the owner of the vehicle reported it stolen.

This incident is still under investigation.
