Update –
One person was injured after a semi rolled over north of Barriere this morning on Highway 5.
BC EHS spokesperson Sarah Morris says paramedics were dispatched around 6:45 this morning.
“Our crews were dispatched and paramedics treated one patient at the scene before transporting them to hospital with non life threatening injuries,” she said.
The highway is now open in both directions, and there is no word yet on what caused the crash.
There will be delays when the process to recover the vehicle begins, as the highway will temporarily return to single lane traffic.

Highway 5 is closed in both directions because of a vehicle incident at Boulder Mountain Road, about 12 km north of Barriere.
There is no detour available at this time, not is there an estimated time of opening, according to Drive BC.
Kamloops Fire and Rescue was dispatched to help with an extrication, however as of 8:15 a.m. Platoon Captain Mike Haines told NL News that KFR crews were on the way back.
Reports indicate that a semi rolled over on the highway, but that is yet to be confirmed.
Drive BC expects to have an update at 9 a.m.
