Kamloops RCMP are looking for witnesses after a hit-and-run that killed a dog this afternoon.
Police say the German Shepherd was in a private yard in the 1000-block of Chief Louis Way, when it was hit around 12:15 p.m.
“The owner of the dog saw the suspect vehicle fully cross the centre line before hitting the dog at the top of his driveway,” said Cpl. Jodi Shelkie.
“After hitting the dog, the vehicle stopped briefly then headed west.”
She says the driver was a Caucasian man, about 45 to 50 years old. He was wearing a black hat and sunglasses and was driving a white newer Ford F150 Crew Cab with a black toneau cover. The vehicle may have also had black pinstripes down the side.
Shelkie says police are appealing for witness to contact Kamloops RCMP or Crimestoppers.
