
A warning for drivers travelling from Kamloops towards Alberta tonight.
Environment Canada has just issued a winter storm warning on the Trans Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass, and a lesser snowfall warning for the Yellowhead Highway from Tête Jaune Cache to the Alberta border.
Forecasters say a “slow moving” storm system will move in tonight and taper off tomorrow morning, bringing up to 40 centimetres of snow over Highway 1 and between 10 and 20 cm for Highway 5.
Light snow is expected tonight in the Kamloops area, with forecasters expecting two centimetres of snow to fall here tonight.
Yellowhead Road and Bridge says up to four centimetres of snow is expected on the Coquihalla from the Lac Le Jeune exit to Merritt, and 5-10 cm will likely fall between Hope and Merritt.
